Thank you Ark-La-Tex!
Since opening our doors in the late fall of 2000, your enthusiasm has placed the CenturyTel Center on the map as one of the top entertainment destinations in the world.
Due to the vision, careful planning and coordination by Mayor George Dement, Bossier City public officials, as well as the design and construction teams, patrons throughout the Ark-La-Tex enjoy events at one of the most modern venues in the country. Built for comfort, convenience, and total enjoyment, the CenturyTel Center offers two large food courts located on a 35-foot wide concourse area, fully upholstered seats with cup-holders, and the convenience of over 200 restroom facilities, and over 4000 parking spaces.
Located on the banks of the Red River in Bossier City, La., the CenturyTel Center is a 270,000 square foot facility capable of hosting up to 14,000 patrons. The venue features world-class concerts, family shows, ice-skating shows, motor sports, rodeos, conventions, religious and community events, as well as other special events. And since the beginning, the CenturyTel Center has been "home" to our community's CHL "Mudbugs" hockey franchise and AF2 "Bossier City Battle Wings" franchise.
For those who want to watch the entertainment in privacy and luxury, CenturyTel Center offers 16 suites just 20 rows from the action! Suites feature private restrooms, upscale seating, wet bars with sinks, ice bins and refrigerators, two (2) TV monitors, cabinets for storage, and access to upscale food and beverage menus.
Special seating is also available in the Clubhouse, a 187-seat club and lounge. The Clubhouse offers patrons access to (2) two bars, private restrooms, upscale seats with cup-holders, special food and beverage menus, wait staff, and charging privileges.
Sports enthusiasts are sure to love the center hung video scoreboard, able to show close-up action and instant replays, which are also displayed over the 75 TV monitors located throughout the concourse, the Clubhouse and luxury suites.
CenturyTel Center is conveniently located just 5 miles from the downtowns of both Shreveport and Bossier City, and is accessible via parkways along both sides of the river. The Shreveport-Bossier City metropolitan area population is 380,000, and is the fastest growing area in the state of Louisiana.
This centrally located venue is accessible from both I-20 and I-49, and is just 3 hours east of Dallas, Texas; 3 1/2 hours south of Little Rock, Arkansas; 4 hours west of Jackson, Mississippi; and 4 1/2 hours north of New Orleans, Louisiana. Shreveport and Bossier City, located on opposite banks of the Red River, host more than 67,000 overnight visitors each week, and are within a one-hour drive for nearly 2 million people desirous of world-class entertainment. The market is the third most attended gaming destination and features casinos such as Boomtown, Horseshoe, Isle of Capri, Sam's Town, Hollywood and Harrah's Louisiana Downs. The Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV) services the market, and is just 13 miles from CenturyTel Center.
